Laurie and Victor met back in high school. “I was attracted to him instantly but too shy to start a conversation,” says Laurie. Fortunately, Victor made the first move to get to know her, and the pair have been together ever since.

After thirteen years of dating, the two decided to finally tie the knot. “We didn’t have a traditional proposal,” she explains. “We had been together so long, it was understood that we would eventually get married; it was just a matter of when.” One day out of the blue, Victor decided to stop talking about it and actually set a date, and the pair wed in a summer celebration on Long Island.
