Ace: Jessie & Jonathan
Yes, we all know that I came from Corporate Finance and we are swarming the city in large numbers. I have left that world of Finance to now coordinate and plan weddings for those slaves to Finance. Jessie and Jon — they’re finance gurus and Jon was even Jessie’s boss (scandalous inter-office romance!) This is why we connected on so many levels…and it helps that both Jessie and I have an infatuation to all things beautiful (read: Christian Louboutin shoes!) It was no wonder that on their wedding day, we had to make a quick stop at the CL store…but enough about why I love them and why we were meant to work together…and onto their wedding.

Upon meeting up with Danny in Downtown Manhattan, it really started to downpour…how convenient right – nothing better than a photographer and coordinator swimming through Downtown Manhattan? (Can you sense my sarcasm?!?!?) That put a damper on our day until we saw the sun pop out and the rain on the grounds dry up just in time for the bride and groom to have their first glance (my favorite part of the wedding of course.)

A few fun snaps and we headed over to the Meat Packing District for a great shoot with Danny and Rob…in our own limo I might add. It just happened to work out that way, but if any client wants their vendors to ‘puffy heart’ them even more, give them a limo (hehehe). Jessie and Jon seriously had one of the coolest bridal parties ever – Jessie had her Maid of Honor, a Bridesmaid, and a BridesMAN…who took his role very seriously…but did not have a bouquet.

After the shoot, a Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony was held at Battery Gardens for approximately 15 of Jon’s closest friends and immediate family. Jessie wore this AMAZING Qipao (Traditional Chinese Red Dress) adorned with sequin.
The ceremony, held outside and under a beautiful canopy of red and orange dahlias and roses was officiated by Carissa Templeton. Something that made this ceremony even more special: a ring warming. Guests pass around the wedding bands of the couple and offer a prayer/blessing or wish for the couple (rings are warmed) before they make their way back up to the couple. The ceremony was emotional and there were about 200 people walking around in Battery Park with their full attention on Jessie and Jon as Carissa shared details about how they met and how their friends play a role in their relationship.

The reception — fun, fun, fun…from beginning to end, guests did not want to sit-down and eat! John Sinclair played every single that you want to hear (you know that: “OMG…I love this song” moment.) Formalities such as the first dance and parent dances (Jon sharing his dance with his Grandmother ‘BooBoo’ and his mother, a fashionista from Hong Kong) had us in tears and we learned Jessie and Jon – two left feet they do not have. We partied and we partied long and hard…it truly was a great night, and I had a blast!
Thanks so much to Jessie and Jon – we wish you the very best, and I’ll see you at Belinda and Rich’s wedding on August 16!
Oh, and what would a wedding be without the vendors popping into the PhotoBooth?
